Notes by W9WI
Competition was fierce in the 1998 Tennessee
QSO Party, and there was no change going
into 1999. The top three places in the
single-operator category were separated by
only 2.5%, and the top two in the
multiple-operator category by only 5.3%.
KQ6ES's out-of-state record from 1998
couldn't be broken, but K4BAI came pretty
close. KG4BIG, who had been licensed for
only 9 months, turned in the second-place
out-of-state score. We have also received
our first entries from outside North
America, and there were three of them. This
contest is tough for DX operators, and all
three European scores represent excellent
effort!
